Solid Hardwood Flooring Sale
Solid hardwood has been one of Carpet To Go Flooring's core specialties since 1995. We sell and install every type of solid hardwood - species, styles, and brands - and because we buy directly from manufacturers in volume, we're able to pass along fair pricing rather than big-box markup. We carry solid hardwood from Shaw, Mohawk, and Anderson, along with custom-milled options. If you have a specific look in mind, we can also stain and finish unfinished solid wood to match it.

Learn moreSolid Wood Flooring Installation
Our professional installers handle every type of solid hardwood installation: nail-down and glue-down over plywood, concrete, or particleboard. Patterns range from classic straight, random, or diagonal layouts to chevron and herringbone and custom basket weave, medallions, and inlays. Every solid wood installation follows industry standards, and custom orders are always welcome - it's the kind of detail work our crew enjoys most. Homeowners refreshing an entire property often pair this with our hardwood stairs service so the whole house flows together.

Solid Wood Stairs
Solid wood stairs are a true craft - a staircase is the central area that draws the most attention in a home, for better or worse. Unlike carpet, which is often a budget option for stairs, hardwood stair work is higher-end and the price is driven mostly by labor rather than material. It's a 100% custom job, which is why experience is the deciding factor in getting a clean result. We handle custom square nosings, floating stairs, open-style stairs, and solid site-finished treads - see our dedicated hardwood stairs page for more detail, or book a free estimate to get a firm number.

Real & Solid Hardwood Flooring - frequently asked questions
Properly installed solid hardwood lasts 50-100+ years. It can be sanded and refinished 6-10 times, so it routinely outlives the homeowner and adds long-term resale value - a big reason so many original floors in downtown Charleston homes are still going strong.
Not directly - solid hardwood is nailed into a wood subfloor. Over a slab, we install plywood first or recommend engineered hardwood instead, which is dimensionally stable and glue-down friendly.
Prefinished planks arrive sealed at the factory (faster install, micro-bevels between boards). Site-finished is sanded and coated in your home for a perfectly flat, custom-color floor.
Solid hardwood reacts to moisture and temperature swings, so we generally recommend engineered hardwood over radiant heat. If you want solid wood, we'll specify narrow widths and rift-and-quartered cuts to minimize movement.
