Using a patterned carpet provides a transition between a main decorating color used on one level of the house to a main color on another. A pattern motif also may provides continuity between two areas of the home. Laying patterned stair carpet presents several challenges plain carpet does not.

Critical to choosing the right carpet is knowing the pattern drop, or interval at which a pattern repeats; our installation teams understand this, achieving excellent results no matter how complex the customer’s idea is.

In this waterfall installation for one of our customers, the carpet was laid in a single strip, anchored to stairs with tackless strips. This kind of installation is most effective when the carpet has an all-over or small repeated pattern. The goal is to make all treads look attractive while showing off the pattern as a whole.
